Here, you can read how the Changemaker Challenge is set up, and which conditions you have to meet in order to rake in that nice sum of € 5,000.
Does your Bachelor or Master’s research focus on clean (drinking) water or plastic waste? Then you can submit your thesis subject up until April 23, 2018 using the registration form. Describe – briefly and concisely – what your idea is, what research methods you use and why you need €5,000 to make your research ground-breaking. After a lifetime of procrastinating, we can recommend that you set your deadline a day earlier!
After April 23, we will select 20 potential Changemakers from the submitted thesis subjects. These participants will be invited to pitch their idea during the semifinals on May 12. During the semifinals your subject will be assessed by a jury of experts, who will then select 10 finalists.
BOOM! You did it: you’re in the grand final, along with 9 other future Einsteins, Boyan Slats and Andy Wahols of the world. Enough to make your mother proud, but of course, you’re going for gold. The final stage of the Changemaker Challenge will take place on World Ocean Day (June 8) and will start at June 7 at a secret location. What we’ll be doing is also still a secret – but believe us, it’s going to be fabulous. We will then reveal the name of the Changemaker that will take home €5,000 to invest in his or her research. Of course, we’ll not leave the other finalists empty handed.
